Options
Conditions for obtaining an employment-based residence permit
Full-time work, contract term of at least 6 months. The employer has operated for at least 6 months. At least 1 year of relevant experience in the last 3 years, OR the salary specified is at least the average monthly gross wage. Exceptions to these requirements apply to graduates of Lithuanian educational institutions (within 10 years of graduation) and persons with temporary protection or a residence permit obtained due to persecution.
A simplified procedure: fewer labour market test requirements and faster review. Requires an employment contract, a profession on the shortage occupation list, matching qualifications and sufficient salary.
Standard procedure: requires a labour exchange permit, and the employer must confirm the need to hire a foreigner. Review may take longer.
The employer is listed with the State Labour Inspectorate as a temporary employment company. Contract of at least 6 months, full-time. Salary at least the national average while working, and at least the minimum wage between assignments.
